This isn't about telling you what alternative is supposed to look like.
It's about giving you more ways to discover what feels like you.
Luna is the heart behind A Gothic Universe.
After years of selling online and building communities around alternative fashion, she realized there were too few places where people with darker, stranger, or less conventional tastes could shop without feeling judged.
So she decided to create one.
Luna personally helps decide what belongs in A Gothic Universe. Her approach is simple: if something doesn't fit the spirit of the Universe, it doesn't belong here.
For her, this has always been about more than products. It's about self-expression, acceptance, and creating the kind of place she once wished existed for herself.
Roj helps turn Luna's vision into something you can actually experience.
With a background in hardware and software engineering, he became deeply involved in building and customizing A Gothic Universe, learning Shopify development, Liquid, JavaScript, design, and the countless details required to bring the store closer to the world Luna imagined.
From navigation and product pages to custom shopping features and the overall experience of the site, much of what happens behind the screen has Roj's fingerprints on it.
Luna brings the vision and curation.

A Gothic Universe is intentionally curated across different alternative subcultures, aesthetics, and interests.
You'll find pieces inspired by gothic, witchy, punk, emo, grunge, horror, cosplay, anime, dark romantic, occult, and other alternative worlds alongside strange, beautiful, playful, and unexpected finds.
Some pieces make a statement.
Some are subtle.
Some are simply fun.
What connects them is the freedom to express yourself without needing anyone else's permission.
We don't believe alternative culture has to fit into one uniform look.
You might live almost entirely in black.
You might love horror movies but dress casually.
You might collect crystals, wear anime accessories, listen to punk, decorate your home like a haunted mansion, or change your aesthetic every few months.
That's the point.
There is no entrance exam for being different.

We're constantly refining the store, improving the experience, discovering new products, expanding different parts of the Universe, and listening to the people who shop with us.
The long-term dream is bigger than an online store.
We want A Gothic Universe to become a community and a destination for alternative culture, a place people return to because they know they'll discover something different and because they feel comfortable being themselves while they're here.
Something meaningful enough to keep growing long into the future.
